Soon after graduating, Pam and Bob became missionaries in the Philippines, They lived there for many years, devoting their time and efforts to proclaiming the name of Christ in this country. Their ministry, called Bob Tebow Evangelistic Association, is still running strong. Unfortunately, while they were in the Philippines, Pam fell ill with amoebic dysentery. Amoebic dysentery is a deadly disease caused by drinking contaminated water. At that time, Pam was pregnant with her fifth child, Tim. Being unaware of her pregnancy, the doctors had given her strong antibiotics as a treatment for her illness. The doctors learned what had happened, and subsequently advised her to end her baby’s life to prevent a life of struggle, due to the likelihood that the antibiotics had damaged the development of the fetus.

However, this did not convince Pam and Bob to waver in their faith and go through with something they did not believe in. They proceeded with her pregnancy, and their son Tim was born. Although he was slightly malnourished in the very early stages of his life, Tim now stands six feet tall and weighs 235 pounds. He was a quarterback champion for the Florida Gators. In fact, he was the first (ever) sophomore to win a Heisman Trophy, which is given to the most outstanding player in NCAA football every year.

In addition to her pro-life beliefs and testimony, Pam often speaks about homeschooling. Pam is known as one of the pioneers of homeschooling. Pam and Bob were homeschooling their children even before the term was coined. They wanted their children to be nourished with the basic knowledge of a Christian foundation. The benefit of such homeschooling programs is that they offer an education with the uniformed subjects, with the integration of Bible-based lessons and training. Homeschooling becomes an intricate part of families’ lives that affects the way children perceive ideologies and culture.
