Board meeting for FIFA U-17 World Cup held in Delhi

The scenario of football in India is going through a major change.  With the FIFA U-17 World Cup coming up in India, a majority of arrangements are being made to successfully organize the competition in the country. Over the years, the scenario of Indian football has gone through a major overhaul with the stupendous success of the ISL and the I league. The spectators have begun to throng the stadiums again with the lure of some exciting football  action. 

Recently, a very important Board meeting for organizing the tournament was held in the capital city of Delhi. A variety of important personalities from the local organizing committee participated in the meeting. The meeting was started off by none other than the Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Mr. Sarbanando Sonowal.

 Indian football is looking forward to some widespread development plans in the coming years and the FIFA U-17 World Cup stands out as one of the  most important tournaments. The teams need to grow from a grassroot level and youth development measures certainly acts as a major part of the system. The Minister for  Sports and Youth Affairs Mr. Sarbanando Sonowal came up with the first address of the meeting and encouraged all the stakeholders to work together just as an unit. 

The President of the All India Football Federation minister Praful Patel also attended the meeting. Over the years, he has been one of the best administrators of Indian football and played a crucial role in the resounding success of the ISL and the I league. The President welcomed all the delegates who were present for the occasion and also mentioned the significance of the tournament for the overall development of Indian football. 

Javier Cappi who is the tournament director for the FIFA U-17 World Cup also updated the delegates and the committee members about the headway which is being made to organize the tournament. Secretary MYAS, Mr. Rajesh Yadav, DG SAI MR. Injeti Srinivas and Joint Secretary MYAS, Mr. Onkar Kedia also put in place the preparation of the tournament for the days ahead. 

The representatives from various cities like Kolkata, Guwahati, Kochi and Goa also participated in the meeting and came up with their view about the preparations.

Under the Praful Patel biography, Indian football has certainly come a long way forward and the FIFAU-17 World Cup is going to be one of the biggest football events to be held in the country.
