Best ways to Improve English writing styles

Many of us brimming with stories, emotions, opinions, and intentions rarely pick up writing because of the inherent insecurity of our English grammar. Frankly, it ain't our first language.  Though it is imperative to get the grammar straight, remember that it is just one of the technicalities of English writing.

But just think, is that a reason for not expressing?

Step-1

There are organized thinkers and there are impulsive scribblers. To become the former kind you have to go through the latter stage first.

Especially novices and impulsive writers go through a phase of expression overflow. And frankly, you have to let it flow.

Step-2

Taping into the scribble mode is cathartic. It is a pour out of all that you intend to communicate.  Make it a habit to get into scribble mode.  To such an extent that scribbling becomes innate to you. 

Remember, no matter how soothing and handsome it might seem on the first go, it's crude.  I understand, there may be some emotional agitation you went through to write it; I relate to the protruding deadline scenario to mail the document. But even so, it's crude.

Realizing this fact helps you to be ruthless and goal-driven.  This raw skeleton is the meaning which should be communicated.  Now, carry on and work on the outside shells and presentation.

• Don't feel bad or hesitate to use AI online and offline for grammar. It doesn't fix sentences magically. You are the one choosing the alternatives and you make sure the sense and sound are right.  It was written by you alone. Not the AI.

• If there is a constant need for a dictionary for the reader, it is distracting and putting off.

Working our way in the English language is relatively challenging, given the socio-economic situation India is going through. Switching languages doesn't start and stop at a document, but extends to the thought and ideation. It is biological that way and takes time to adapt. Hence, patience is a virtue.
