Best Airlines in the world

by Monika Trump writer

Once again this year, the specialized site Airlineratings.com analyzed data from 385 airlines. Objective: to identify the safest carriers, based on different criteria: examination of the number of accidents, cutting-edge safety initiatives, audits carried out by governments and aviation associations, age of aircraft. And this, despite air traffic in free fall in 2020.

After taking the lead from 2014 to 2017, then in 2019 and 2020, Quantas is once again considered the safest company in 2021. Qatar Airways takes second place, while Air New Zealand, Singapore Airlines and Emirates round out the top five (see full ranking below).

Air France is not in the top 20

Air France does not appear in the ranking. Airlineratings gives it a score of 7/7 in terms of safety, 5.7 / 7 in terms of product, and gives it six stars out of seven in terms of management of Covid-19 because it lacks the sanitary kit for passengers . KLM is 19th in the ranking. There is only one American company in the top 10, Alaska Airlines.

“The challenge this year was the number of airlines flying. Our twenty safest airlines all continued to fly or had limited flight disruptions, ”Geoffrey Thomas, editor of AirlineRatings, told CNN Travel .

Separately, the website announced the top 20 airlines on Monday for their Covid-19 safety compliance. These carriers are AirBaltic, Air New Zealand, Alaska Airlines, All Nippon Airways, AirAsia, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Delta Air Lines, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Eva Air, Japan Airlines, JetBlue, KLM, Korean Air, Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines , Southwest Airlines, Qatar Airways and WestJet.

The low-cost have also been noted

AirlineRatings also compared the safest low cost carriers, listing the top 10 airlines in alphabetical order. These are Air Arabia, Allegiant, EasyJet, Frontier, Jetstar Group, Jetblue, Ryanair, Vietjet, Westjet and Wizz Air.

Once again Qantas lives up to its reputation. Remember in the movie Rain Main , Dustin Hoffman's character indicates that this is the only company he would fly in because it is the only one that never crashed. The airline suffered fatal small plane crashes before 1951, but had no fatalities for the next 70 years.
