Bedroom wardrobe: layout and furnishings

Furnishing the wardrobe

But which wardrobe really suits your needs? Do you have a particular organizing and storage method? How much space do you need for your linens? All of these questions will help you see a little more clearly in the closet jungle.
Below is a (partial) list of all the inserts and accessories for cabinets:

- Storage boxes made of fabric, wood or plastic;
- Shelves (small or large);
- Clothes rail (low or high);

- Laundry basket;
- Clothes rail (adjustable, movable).
Choose the furniture that best suits your habits and lifestyle. Some love to have their shirts folded accurately in the closet, others prefer to hang them on hangers.
Once you know what accessories you want your closet to have, you still need to determine where to place each item in the closet.
Our tip: all the clothes you need every day should be at handle height (baskets for underwear, storage compartments for shirts, suspenders). Shoes belong in the lower closet area, as well as pajamas or storage boxes.
But: the more storage elements, the more expensive the wardrobe! If you want to save money, you can close your closet with a curtain instead of a door.
How much storage space do you need?
Organizing proper storage will help to carefully sort things. To store things on hangers requires a height of about 1 meter, the width on the bar - about 5-7 centimeters, the depth - up to 50 centimeters. To store coats and dresses you will need a height of 170-175 centimeters. Compartment for pants and skirts usually make a height of 120-130 centimeters.
