Beauty Is More Than Skin Deep

by Anna Rose Blogger

Do you ever take time out to evaluate your appearance? Beauty has many different connotations and in many cultures is a very important aspect of personal worth. Beauty can be physical or mental, but in the end all that matters is whether or not you feel good about yourself. Beauty is subjective, but there are some common components that most people agree on when it comes to beauty. These elements range from your skin and hair to your clothing and accessories. Learn what these components are so you can learn how to refresh your wardrobe.

Beauty Is More Than Skin Deep

Skin: Skin is the largest organ in the body and is the first thing people see. Skin that is fresh and vibrant looks younger, whereas dry skin looks older and dull. Your skin tone can range from completely white to an unhealthy yellow tint. You want to look your best on a daily basis, so it's important to maintain your skin and apply a quality moisturizer regularly.

Hair: The hair is an extension of the skin, so if you have a great skin and hair combination, make sure both look great together. If one looks dull and lifeless while the other is bouncing with vitality, you might want to consider a new hair color. Your hairstyle should also compliment your skin, so if you have short hair, wear it up or down, but don't wear it bunted or in braids. Likewise, if you have long hair, make sure your bangs are in a style that coordinates with your face and chin. Consider wearing your hair in a ponytail when you're at home or when you're out of the shower; for work, tie your hair in a ponytail at night and braid it in the morning.

Clothing: Clothes are another aspect of beauty that many people are unaware of. You need to make sure your clothes fit comfortably and that they are comfortable to wear. When you're buying clothing, try to find styles that will minimize any lumps, bulges, or wrinkles you may have; this is especially important if you're buying t-shirts. Consider buying a few pairs of athletic shorts, tank tops, or shorts. You can also purchase compression pants or maternity pants that are designed to minimize your belly and provide additional coverage from your tummy area; they'll also keep your baby looking snug and charming!

Beauty is also about how you feel. You need to make sure you're healthy and mentally sound; if you're stressed or not feeling well, your appearance will reflect that. Pay attention to what you eat; do your best to maintain a diet that will keep your energy levels up. If you want to add a little something to your diet, try adding flaxseed to your daily meal. These little additions can make a big difference when it comes to making you feel great and looking your best.

Beauty is more than making sure you look good on your day to day, it's about how you feel and how you let others see the truth of who you are. It doesn't matter what you put on your body, whether you're working out in the gym or donning your cute little bikinis, make sure you're feeling your best. It's OK to admit that you don't feel like your old self, and nobody is perfect! Take your time and enjoy being who you are, it'll help you attract the men and women that will truly adore and respect you.
