Exotic and Esoteric Holiday Safari is what holiday makers would seek every time. But let me tell you this won't be one that is spent inc complete relaxation. The tiger safaris are exhausting if organised twice a day which they usually are.

Bandhavgarh National Park is an exotic and esoteric destination situated in the remote confines of Umaria District in Madhya Pradesh in India. It is far away from the maddening crowd ensconced deeply in a pristine forest that once contained establishments of ruling dynasties. The dynasties have gone but the establishments remain and with the end of internecine wars peace and serenity rules in this realm of the tiger.

Stand on the hill we call Bandhavgarh at 800 MSL in reserve. Experience the feel of isolation in a fairy tale settings amidst tall trees, grasslands and bamboo clumps with tigers and leopards lurking in the vicinity and feel the trepidation.

Yet I would like here to come again and again. Stand to witness the rules of the tribal and and other kingdoms, conquests after never ending conquests. The emptiness is engulfing as you see the zoomorphic idols around you. You are not alone Lord Vishnu stands with you at the mountain edge master of the whole Universe. You look in awe at the silent spectacle which is the statue overlooking the exotic realm below. The fort complex contains not only statues but large reservoirs, artifacts and temples on the table top.

Some distance below is n equally amazing place call the reclining Vishnu or Sesh Shaiyya. It is a twenty feet idol carved out of igneous rock lying near a dainty pool. Overhead on the crown looms a massive cobra with many heads. Trickles inundate the fairy pool the whole structure is covered in moss, lichens and algae intertwined with ferns and climbers. Overhead loom large trees with dense crown to provide shade and protect from the harsh sun.

This is Bandhavgarh the land of the tiger. The fort over two thousand years old finds mention in many ancient Hindu Scriptures. The civilization is gone only wilderness remains and the tell tale signs are frozen way back in time forever.

Twenty percent of the core area of the park is open for tourism. This is where Bandhavgarh National Park safari is organized. Early morning and late evening you can enter the park for excursions if you have a permit.

The park ride offers sighting of tigers. leopards, sloth bears and wild dog with luck and tracking. Commonly sighted animals are the chital, sambar, barking deer, langur, wild boar and peacock.

The birds are in plenty and with good pair of binoculars you can have a goof time watching them on safari. Book a permit before going for excursions. This can be done online at MPOnline Website belonging to Madhya Pradesh Government. Booking should be done in advance since there is a limit to entry.

You can reach the destination from Jabalpur Airport which is four hours drive. Jabalpur is well connected with New Delhi ad Mumbai cities in India.
