Auto Responders

by Terry Warner My Leads Call Me

Networkers are relentlessly prompted and encouraged to build a list of their customers and add them to an email responder list. We are told: the money is in your list, and rightly so.

However, building a list without paying attention to the letters, questions, and promises will only last as long as the information remains fresh and new. Otherwise, subscribers will quit just as fast as they signed up.

Here is a list of what an auto responder should contain and maybe after reading the list, you will understand why, in a lot of cases, a professional built email responder is the way to go.

  1. A letter confirming the subscription. This should be a double opt in letter where the customer fully understands what they are signing up for.
  2. The first five letters should be full of new and informative and encouraging news. Absolutely no selling, no links to sign up to your opportunity. If the customer is ready, they will contact you.
  3. The sixth letter should be a multiple choice survey that will gain you information as to their needs. Maybe the last question could be an essay type answer but be prepared for smart remarks and nasty replies.
  4. The seventh through tenth letter should give more information and encouraging comments and news. At this time you could sneak in a link to your opportunity. Do not under any circumstances blanket your auto responder emails with banner adds or obnoxious videos.
  5. Keep writing more emails until you have about a six to eighth month supply by sending letters about once a week.
  6. After about three months, cut your emails back to a trickle.

Auto responders must be coordinated and written out in a purposeful theme that will entice customers to your opportunity. That is why a lot of net workers decide to have their auto responders written by someone else or an auto responder company.

As someone who blogs and is familiar with the English language, I use a professional auto responder because while I may be decent at blogging, my professional auto responder is very good at writing letters and getting people to respond.

Unless you are exceptional, writing and setting up your personal auto responder should be left to the proven professionals. There are so many emails and list builders available that really say and promote your opportunity better.
