According to reports, on Tuesday, July 5, a landslide was reported in Panchsheel Nagar at Ghatkopar. This comes in the midst of heavy rainfall lashing Mumbai. The Mumbai Fire Brigade has brought to light that fire vehicles have reached the location.

Based on accounts, so far no casualties have been reported. Further, a house was also damaged where the landslide was reported.

For several days now, Mumbai has been seeing heavy rainfall. This has caused landslides, waterlogging and immense vehicular congestion.

It has been reported that in the last 12 hours, Mumbai has registered 95.81 mm of rainfall. Further, Sion Circle faces considerable waterlogging.

In lieu of the heavy rainfall alert, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde has asked officials to keep vigil and directed that NDRF squads be kept ready.

Earlier last week, a landslide was reported at Pedder Road in south Mumbai near an under-construction building. This resulted in a cracked footpath throughout the stretch.
