Artificial Grass Types, Foundation and Stages to follow by every Professional

turf is a great alternative to natural plants that are more susceptible to
environmental factors. More and more consumers prefer this particular material,
but such material needs proper artificial
grass installation near Buckingham and compliance with a number of rules.
The
average service life of a quality lawn is calculated in years, but the material
itself is subject to deterioration under the influence of biological decay,
therefore, when installing it, it is necessary to think over a system for
protecting the base of the coating from excess moisture.
Synthetic Fiber grass has a very simple design:
The base is made of elastic material that perfectly withstands any load, does not deform and does not let water through. The pile covering is made of synthetic fiber and fastened using stitching technology.
The height of the pile, the color and direction of the grass may vary depending on the manufacturer. Such Material is sold in Rolls, and for Football fields separate fragment of grass are cut in advance which are connected to each other during installation
TYPES
OF ARTIFICIAL GRASS
First
of all, you have to choose the material option for artificial lawn
installation. There are several types of artificial turf, and each of them has
its own strict purpose:
Vigilant. A roll material that is easy to install and has an authentic
look. It is quite difficult to distinguish it from real grass at first glance,
but this material has its drawbacks. It can only be used on sites that do not
experience strong mechanical stress, and the main purpose of the material is
only an aesthetic function.
Semi-filled. This coating option will require more time for installation,
since the installation itself is carried out in several stages. However, this
material has many more advantages. The grass layer is soft and perfectly
softens the fall, and the service life of the material is calculated in years.
Zasypnoy. Grass turf of this type can most often be found on football
fields, it is perfectly springy, thereby protecting athletes from severe
injuries. Given the strongest loads on the coating, its service life is quite
long.
Pets

Commercial

Residential
Lawn, mostly installed on house lawn for children friendly atmosphere
If you decide to decorate the lawn in your summer cottage with just such a coating, then you will have to carefully listen to all the advice and follow the correct laying technology. Artificial grass has become a very popular material that is used everywhere for various purposes.
The main advantages of
such a coating are the practicality and aesthetics of the created surface. The
lawn does not need complex maintenance and remains attractive and green in any
weather. An additional plus was the fact that it is much safer to fall on such
grass, and most children's areas are equipped with just such material.
Artificial
Grass Foundation
The
very first step is preparing the base for laying. If you don't know how to properly
install artificial grass, please read this manual carefully to avoid any
mistakes.
Artificial
grass is laid on a loose and even base, so debris and large stones must be
removed and clean from the soil. Then the earth layer is leveled, but if
necessary, grass can also be laid on a concrete base. To create ideal
conditions for laying grass, you will need to pour several layers of different
materials.
First, quartz is poured, then a layer of waterproof materials to protect the material from damage. In large areas and in the absence of a canopy, additional drainage from the tubes is installed, which will drain excess water.
The very last layer
is necessary to create a springy effect and consists of fine gravel and crushed
rubber. After pouring all the components, the base needs to be trampled a
little so that when laying the grass there are no height differences.
Artificial
Lawn Concrete Surface Work
Artificial
grass can be laid on a concrete or wooden base, but in this case, the work
steps will be slightly different. The surface is
cleaned of dirt and leveled, strong elevation changes do not deform the
coating itself, but can affect the appearance of the lawn.
After
the concrete base is ready for laying grass, a substrate and reinforcing mesh
are installed on top. Such precautions are necessary so that the resulting
coating has a rigid grip, but creates a springy effect.
Artificial
Grass Installation Stage
Before
installation, it is necessary to spread the grass and allow the fibers to take
the desired shape. Since the material is supplied in a roll, the fleecy part is
wrinkled and during installation it is possible to confuse the direction of the
blades of grass.
Artificial grass requires the use of a number of special materials, and once the subfloor is leveled, it is time to install a special film. Geotextile has the appearance of a dense and impermeable material, which is designed to evenly distribute loads on the surface.
If the expected load on the floor is quite high, then an additional shock-absorbing grid is installed on top of the protective layer. At the preparation and planning stage, you can develop a special lawn design and even use grass of different colors.
Special joining technology gives long-lasting results, so your imagination is unrestricted. A roll of artificial grass is spread on the finished surface and tamped to the desired size of the site. The joints between the strips can be glued with a special adhesive, and to create a durable coating with a high degree of wear resistance, the strips are sewn together.
Roll
Grass Technology
To
obtain a perfectly flat area, you need to calculate the dimensions of the
canvases in advance. Spread strips of grass on the surface of the site and dock
them together. In this case, the rolls should overlap each other by at least a
few centimeters. After the strips are laid in the right direction, the excess
pieces are cut off, and the finished coating is adjusted to the desired size.
Docking of layers with each other is carried out using a special tape, which is installed at the junction. The width of such material is 300 mm, and the strip itself is installed under the rolled material. To fix the tape, the strip is smeared with special glue over the entire surface and glued to the base.
The
same manipulations must be done on the top of the connecting tape and tightly
attach the artificial grass to the adhesive strip. After gluing, the joints must
be stamped with a roller and walked with such a tool over the entire surface of
the lawn.
If you have to process a large area, then stitching technology is used instead of glue. These works are made on a special tool, and durable fiber of a contrasting color is used as a thread.
Back lifting Lawn
The last step is backfilling the finished lawn with quartz sand. This stage is important for maintaining the durability of the coating, but backfilling is done in such a way that it covers all holes on the surface of the material.
Another purpose of backfilling is that, thanks to sand granules, the grass
fibers will not cake, and the lawn will not lose its attractive appearance. The
average sand consumption is 15 kg per square meter, and when choosing, pay attention
to the shape of the granules. They should be rounded so as not to damage the
grass and, if necessary, soften the blow.
ARTIFICIAL
TURF CARE
If
you think that after laying you can forget about artificial turf, then you are
mistaken. Such a coating needs constant care, and only if the basic rules are
observed, it is possible to maintain an attractive appearance of the material
for a long time.
The
turf must be washed and cleaned of dirt. If you have installed such a lawn in a
playground, be sure to disinfect it to get rid of the presence of germs.
The
layer of sand and filler must be periodically updated and this procedure can be
carried out only in dry weather.
The
lawn needs to be moistened once a week in warm weather, as when completely dry
it loses its grip on the surface.
Artificial
turf needs to be periodically pierced in different places to create forced
ventilation and protect the material from biodegradation.
Now
you know how to install artificial grass and create a beautiful lawn on your site
that does not require complicated maintenance.
