Angular JS Interview Process

by Patrick David Career Educator

Far too many people have asked me what its like to go through technical interviews. Especially those just coming out of college. Here's what you can expect as you start to apply to startups or even well-established technology companies in the bay area or otherwise.

Your interview process will be in three steps. The first is a phone interview, this is usually with someone who is going to vet your fit, and at this stage, you'll have the opportunity to be knocked out of the running the quickest. The second stage is the in-person interviews with someone who isn't technical, this person is going to be interviewing you for fit inside the current management style. Usually, in this interview, you're going to be making it to the third type of interview but be sure that you nail this one because they'll be voting if you are a good fit for the position or not, too. The third is the technical interview, this is where you might be doing some paired programming or potentially some type of coding examples on a whiteboard. You may have a series of verbal interview questions too, which gauge your overall knowledge of the programming languages that you know. This can be a really hard interview. And sometimes very intensive, because these sessions can last for hours.

In general, those are the three types of interviews you'll undergo when you are trying to apply for a job and get hired in a computer science related position. As it relates to very specific job functions and the types of interview questions you might see, I've put together a series of interview question templates which can help you prepare for any upcoming interface you might have with a hiring manager or technical manager.
