by William Zhang goshaarewareAfter you delete files by hitting the “Delete” option, you may look
for them in the recycle bin. Once the recycle bin is emptied, the files
cannot be found anywhere. Thus, people think that the files are gone
forever, but the real fact is that you still can recover deleted files
from recycle bin even after emptying the recycle bin.
Why it is possible to recover recycle bin deleted files?
When a file is deleted from recycle bin, its contents will not be
immediately destroyed. The pointers that direct to the location of the
file and folder on the hard drive, are saved in a section near the
beginning of the hard drive, and are used by the operating system to
compile the directory tree structure.
When a file is deleted, Windows simply marks the hard drive space as
being available for use by changing one character in the file table and
erasing the pointer, so that the actual file becomes invisible to the
operating system, and the file entry won’t be displayed in Windows
Explorer. Eventually, new data will be written over the area where the
deleted file is located.
Thus, as long as you stop using computer after file being deleted, the space will not be overwritten, and you can restore recycle bin deleted file at any time.
