history dating back to the Vedic period. The AssakaMahajanapada was an ancient
Indian monarchy located between the Godavari and Krishna Rivers in southeastern
India.Modern-day Andhra Pradesh was a component of the Madras State after
India's independence in 1947.
Amaravati, historically known as
"Dhnyakatakam," is a prominent city in Andhra Pradesh's cultural
heritage and history. It was the capital of the Satavahana Dynasty of the
(Andhras) in the 2nd Century BCE, one of the first Indian empires and the
ancestral dynasty of Andhra Pradesh. The Satavahanas are well-known in Andhra
Pradesh's history as the founders of the Telugu New Year (Ugadi) festival.
Their primary language was Prakrit, which was written in Brahmi Script, which
later became the Telugu script. They produced a large number of coins in this
Prakrit language, which may still be found in inscriptions around the region.
One of the most empires of medieval India- “Vijaynagar Empire”prosperoused in
this region, after India’s independence in 1947 “Nizam of Hyderabad” was
apathetic to merge with Indian Union, the state of Hyderabad was hence captured
as per diplomacy of Vallabh Bhai Patel
on 17 sept 1948 by military operation. In 1953, Andhra Pradesh became the first
Indian state to be constituted solely on the basis of language.

to elect the state's 15th Legislative Assembly. They were held concurrently
with the 2019 Indian General Election, and Y.S. Janganmohan Reddy's YRS Congress
party won 151 of the 175 seats in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly,
accounting for nearly 86 percent of the seats.
