Aging Signs Can Go Off Through Chemical Peel At Home
by Dr. Sanjay Mohindra Cosmetic PhysicanAmong all cosmetic treatments, the
completely painless and non-invasive anti-aging treatment is the chemical peel.
You look young and defy gravity with its effect.
Let’s get through what it is and how it
retards aging effects.
Chemical
Peel
As its name recalls, the chemical peel is a
cosmetic treatment to exfoliate face, hands and neck. The exfoliation with pH-containing
chemicals effectively removes the oldest dead skin cells sitting on the
outermost surface.
Skin

·

·

·
Brightening skin tone

·

& skin discolouration
Types of Chemical Peels:
1. Superficial peel
Being involved little to no time, it is also called ‘lunchtime peel’. It is an office-based procedure, which lets the chemical peel penetrate minimally for shedding dull and discoloured skin, for example-mandelic, lactic, and low-strength salicylic acid.
2. Medium peel
As compared to superficial peels, these ones seep deeply to the middle layer of the skin. It acts on some moderate skin problems like superficial scarring, fine lines, wrinkles, discolouration and age spots. Some of the medium peels are High-percentage glycolic acid, Jessner, and TCA peels.
3. Deep peel
Proving its name, the deep peel, like high-percentage TCA and phenol, goes deep into the middle layer of the skin, targeting damaged skin cells to extract and remove severe scars, wrinkles and discolouration.
Correct method of chemical peeling at home:
- Precaution:
Before chemical peeling at home, remember that it is a stronger version of over-the-counter chemical exfoliation products. Therefore, be cautious while using it at home.
- Look for 2.0 pH
When it comes to buying the chemical peel, carefully check whether its pH is around 2.0 or below. It significantly approves its usage, as the percentage of that acid in the skin care product is ideal to exfoliate. A slight increase in the pH scale qualifies it to be less effective. So, make sure that your product has its ideal quantity, i.e. 2.0 pH.

- Procedure to Do
As aforementioned, prefer an experienced cosmetic surgeon to carry out chemical peels as a non-invasive anti-aging treatment. It is simply because these chemicals are very strong and should not be used casually. So, we’re sharing its procedure just to enrich you with an accurate idea of how to apply it.
1. Begin with a patch test, applying its minimal quantity on the skin of your wrist or inner arm.
2. Observe 48 hours to check if there is any reaction taking place
3. Re-check in 96 hours if the acid reacted.
Subsequently, incorporate it with your skin
care regime. The cosmetic practitioners generally take 60 to 90 minutes to wrap
it up. But at home, you should start with only 30 seconds. In the trailing
months, double the time every week until you reach the maximum of 5 minutes.
If your skin does not peel off, it shows
the need to move up the peel in the percentage for application from scratch.
Follow the schedule and duration as aforesaid.
If you intend to go for the medium to deep
peel, never attempt these steps at home. Rather, visit an experienced cosmetic
doctor, who will diagnose and numb your skin before applying chemical on your
surface. Then, he will apply chemical
solution. After a few minutes, he will soothe stinging sensations with cool
compresses and moisturizers.
