After Builders Cleaning Checklist

by jyoti singh digital marketer

Introduction

Take a look at these tips from a professional after builders cleaning company in London. You should always make sure that you clean up and deal with the dust left behind by renovations as soon as possible!

Clean the windows from the outside.

Cleaning windows from the outside is easy and can be done in a few minutes. If you have to remove a window frame, it’s best to do this before cleaning.

First, take care of any streaks or smudges on the glass by using a squeegee attached to your hose pipe. Then, use a microfiber cloth or lint-free cloth (we suggest using 3M Scotch-Brite™ Lint Rollers) to wipe down the rest of the window and remove any remaining streaks or smudges in one pass.

Dust the surfaces in all rooms.

  • Take a soft brush and dust all surfaces. Make sure you dust the tops of cupboards, doors, and ceilings too.
  • Use a duster to clean window frames, door frames, and light switches.
  • Clean the inside of your windows with paper towels soaked in vinegar or lemon juice mixed with water (1 part vinegar/5 parts water).

Vacuum and mop the floors.

Vacuum and mop the floors. Use a vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter to remove dust from the floors, and then follow up with a microfibre mop for added moisture. If you have hardwood or vinyl floors, you can use steam mops for cleaning them instead of using a traditional upright vacuum cleaner.

  • Soft microfiber cloths are ideal for gently wiping down surfaces without scratching furniture or leaving streaks in your floor finish (for example, if you’ve got an oil-based product like NuCedar’s Wood Floor Cleaner on hand).

Reach for the ceiling fans and window frames.

  • Use a vacuum cleaner to clean the ceiling fans.
  • Use a soft cloth to clean the window frames.
  • Use a brush to clean the window sills.
  • Use a vacuum cleaner to clean the window sills and frames.

Empty the trash bins and replace the bags.

After a home renovation, it can be difficult to know where all those extra bags of trash are coming from. You may not have realized that the bin was so full or that it needed a new bag. Now that you’re cleaning up after the builders and their mess, there is no room for error in this task. It’s important to empty all bins and replace any old bag with a fresh one as soon as possible. If you don’t have any bin liners handy, simply wash out the existing one with hot water and soap before putting in your brand new liner!

This step also includes taking care of any other trash cans throughout your home so everything looks neat and clean when guests come over (or when you do).

Sanitise the bathroom and toilet.

Before you start, you’ll need to get hold of some bleach and make sure it’s clean water. You can use either a ready-mixed bathroom cleaner or the DIY version (see below). Remember to wear rubber gloves when handling bleach as it will irritate your skin.

Once you’ve got your supplies sorted, it’s time to get started! If there is no one else in the house, shut off all heating systems and air conditioning units so that moisture doesn’t build up on furniture or floors — this will help prevent mold growth when cleaning.

  • For the bathroom: sanitize all surfaces with a solution made up of 1 part bleach diluted in 9 parts water; wipe down cabinets with a sponge dampened with an undiluted bleach solution and allow them to dry thoroughly before replacing anything inside them; mop floors using an appropriate disinfectant product designed for this purpose.

Pay attention to the kitchen area.

Kitchen:

  • Clean the kitchen sink and drain. Make sure you remove any food debris from the drain before cleaning it because if you don’t, your filter will become clogged and end up costing quite a lot of money when you have to replace it.
  • Clean the stove top too; this will require some elbow grease but can make a big difference in how clean your kitchen looks! You should also wipe down the inside of your oven while you’re at it, being careful not to get any water on yourself — or else that could lead to some serious burns! (Yes, we speak from experience here.)
  • You may also want to clean around or inside of your microwave because there might be spills hiding there — we know this sounds gross but trust us on this one! We had one customer who was about ready for their first baby when they hired us for post-construction cleaning services, so naturally, she wanted everything in her home cleaned thoroughly before her baby arrived…and guess what we found? Lots of dirty dishes piled up around the edges where no one could see them — these were moldy by now because they’d been sitting there for weeks! So yes: empty all those cabinets — you never know what might be lurking within them until someone takes apart all those drawers…like I said earlier: pay attention especially carefully around areas near appliances like refrigerators and dishwashers since they tend to collect dust pretty quickly due to humidity levels rising over time due

Give extra love to your floors.

  • Use a good quality mop.
  • Use a good quality cleaning product.
  • Use a good-quality microfiber cloth.
  • Use a good quality bucket, which should be large enough to hold the water you’ll need to make your floor shine — and empty quickly so it can be used again at any time during the cleaning process. If your bucket is too deep and wide, you may find yourself having to wring it out multiple times before you can use it again!
  • If possible, also invest in an extra roller for your vacuum cleaner; this will allow for faster cleanup of dust and debris from surfaces such as hardwood floors or tile walls without having to stop periodically just because there isn’t enough room for everything inside the vacuum itself (or because you don’t have enough hands)!

Thorough cleaning is one of the keys to a healthy home

Thorough cleaning is one of the keys to a healthy home. It’s important to clean your house thoroughly after builders have left, as when they pack up their tools and leave, they can leave a lot of mess behind. Your home will be dirty and dusty after builders have been in, with builder’s dust everywhere that isn’t easily visible to the naked eye (which is most of it). The smells from their work can linger for quite some time too if you don’t get rid of them quickly enough!

This checklist will help you make sure you have everything covered when it comes to post-builder cleaning:

Conclusion

For you to enjoy your house and its remodeled parts, you will need a deep clean. Our cleaning experts are always ready to help you out with this task.
