A Spiritual and Sightly Escape to Rishikesh

Any tour to Rishikesh is bound to be filled with spiritual and stunningly captivating sights that will leave you stunned owing to the unbelievable beauty that the place is bestowed with. My recent trip to Rishikesh was nothing less. Here’s how the trip ended up being a memorable spiritual and slightly escape!

Started My Day With The Blessings Of Goddess Kunjapuri

One cannot just visit Devbhoomi Uttarakhand and come back without visiting its divine temples and holy shrines. Owing to that fact, I decided to begin by Rishikesh city tour by visiting the famous Kanjapuri Devi temple which is located at a height of 1676 meters atop a beautiful hill. The place is not only a treasure house for devotees as it is one of the 52 Shaktipeeths but is also a delight for nature lovers as you can view grand snow-capped mountains from the place which is indeed a sight to behold.

The experience was deeply invigorating and left me all the more excited for the next destination I had planned to visit for the day.

Diving Into The Divinity Of Surkanda Devi Temple

Situated at a height of 3050 meters, this is another significant Shaktipeeth temple that I was extremely excited to explore. Trekking is one of the most famous things to do in Rishikesh and apart from providing you with a spiritual recluse, reaching the temple also requires a short 2 km trek which ends up fulfilling both your religious and adventurous aspirations.  The sight was indeed lovely and the experience of viewing religious rituals taking place had a calming effect that is hard to be recreated ever!

The Perfect End To A Picturesque Sojourn

Finally, I ended up making my way to Dhanaulti which is one of the most popular places to visit in Rishikesh. Located in the foothills of the Garhwal hills, the beauty of this place can’t be expressed in its entirety. Situated at an altitude of 2286 meters above sea level, the place is nothing short of a paradise on Earth. From that height, the panoramic vistas are gorgeous to look at. 

While in Rishikesh, I believe I had an epiphany of the strangest sort that I can’t express in words but it will always remain in my heart as a reminder of one of the most soothing vacations I ever enjoyed.
