7 Boat Storage Tips

When summer’s over and the cooler temperatures of fall have come on, it’s time to pack up the summertime memories with the boat and prepare for winter. #6 – Seal exhaust ports. If not sealed, rodents and insects can find a nice dark place to spend the winter. Closing this off is as easy as applying duct tape over the openings.
#7 – Wash and wax. This is also a good time to do a deep clean of the boat’s interior. Besides cleaning, you can also treat leather areas with a conditioner. Also remove electronics, which don’t do well in cold weather. Wash the outside of the boat and cover the body with wax. Wax will prevent corrosion. Also use a boat cover to prevent dirt and moisture from getting inside your newly cleaned boat.
