5 Ways to Maximize Space in a 2 BHK Flat

by TodayMediaHub Com TodayMediaHub

Ranked amongst the world's top 10 most populated cities, Mumbai boasts a population of over two crores with an area of 603.4 sq km. Nicknamed the Populous City, one doesn’t find it hard to understand why buying any sort of land in the financial capital would cost a fortune. For example, an average 1 BHK house could cost you ₹60 lakhs in the city. However, as time passes, the state government and local authorities strive to make things better for the common man, some recent examples being the Metro Lines 2A and 7, Trans harbor link, and the recent Delhi-Mumbai expressway. Future projects, such as the coastal road and underground metro, provide a realm of hope for the Mumbaikars.

Hub to most of the country’s economic and financial activities, living in Mumbai isn’t the most pocket friendly, with space constraints challenging the island city. Whether it be 1,2, or 3 BHK, there is only little one can do to justify the cost of a property. Despite the middle class evolving, purchasing real estate in the city requires significant capital. Nonetheless, some ways may help you maximize the space in your home, especially if you’re a family living in a 2 BHK house.

Instead of google searching for 2 or 3 BHK apartments near me, we can take some effective measures that may help us solve our problems, at least temporarily. Meanwhile, let’s look at some hacks that could help us maximize space with minimum effort.

1. Declutter your entrance

The entrance of your home forms the first impression in the visitor’s mind. Therefore, avoid congestion in the said area of the house, ensuring no obstacles lie in the way. For example, place a bench and a shoe rack for guests' convenience when they enter and exit. If possible, place a room freshener near the door so that there is a pleasing aroma.

2. An open-concept layout

Getting into some specifications, such as the floor plan, should avoid as many partitions/walls as possible, making your home look more spacious. To provide some differentiation, use different marbles or tiles for areas like the kitchen.

3. Loft or bunk beds for kids

A bunk bed is one of the best hacks in case two children share the room, helping save up a lot of space that could help install a study table, bookshelf, etc. Avoid using too many colors, as it would give a cramped appearance.

4. Maximise space in your bedroom

No doubt the bed takes up a lot of space in the bedroom. Thus, one could consider placing the bed on a raised platform. Other tips include setting your clothes in a storage container under the bed and ensuring that your wardrobe closet has demarcations for your clothes, shoes, and accessories.

5. Adequate storage in the kitchens

For small kitchens, secure built-up drawers for all kinds of cutlery, tablecloths, etc. Regarding jars, containers for snacks, and bottles, slender shelves could help you save on space.

Though this might not be the perfect solution to your issues of space constraints, it does provide  temporary relief, adhering to the saying that ‘something is better than nothing.’
