5 Ways To Make Your Passover Vacation Fun and Affordable

by Kosher River Cruise Kosher Tour Operator
Passover is one of the most widely observed Jewish holidays. It’s celebrated by Jews around the world, and many non-Jewish people join in to celebrate with their Jewish friends and family in their own homes or even aboard a glatt kosher cruise.

Passover is the perfect time of year to get away with your family. The kids are out of school, the weather is warming up, and everyone is ready for a break.

The world is full of some of the most amazing Passover resorts in the country. Whether you prefer a small boutique hotel, beach resort or a large mega-resort, there's something for every taste and budget.

While you may be thinking where to start your journey in vacationing, here are five ways to make your passover vacation fun and affordable!

1. Plan Ahead

The earlier you book your trip, the better chance you have of scoring a cheap flight. The biggest savings can be found when you book 21 days before departure. If you wait until the last minute, you’re more likely to pay full price and end up stuck with an inconvenient flight schedule.

Planning well in advance will allow you to take advantage of early bird discounts and prevent any last minute surprises or stresses that could occur if you leave things until the last minute. If you don't have time to plan out your entire itinerary beforehand, then at least be sure to book your flights and accommodations ahead of time so you can take advantage of the best deals available.

2. Set a Budget and Keep It

Before you leave home, figure out how much money you're willing to spend and stick with it. This includes cash for entertainment and meals, along with the cost of the hotel itself.

Your budget should include all routine expenses, like food and seder supplies, as well as extras, such as entertainment and travel. If you can’t pay for everything up front, consider saving a little bit each month between now and Passover. If you already have a nest egg that can pay for part of the vacation, take a look at how much you can charge to your credit cards, so that you don’t overspend.

3. Be Flexible With Your Travel Dates

When booking your flight, it may be cheaper to leave a few days before or after Passover than flying during the actual holiday weekend. Sundays are usually a good time to fly since they tend to have the lowest airfares.

As with any vacation, you can save money by being flexible with your travel dates and looking for deals on flights and hotels. But during Passover especially, being flexible will help you avoid peak-season prices by traveling during off-peak times — such as arriving early or staying later than most other travelers.

You might have no choice but to travel during Passover, but you may still have some flexibility with your dates. Check prices for different days of the week, both leading up to and following the holiday. For example, Saturday through Tuesday nights might be cheaper than Wednesday through Friday nights. If you have relatives that live near each other, plan to visit them all in one location instead of having separate trips.

4. Go During Off-peak Times

Off-season travel is almost always less expensive than peak season travel, and Passover is no exception. For example, hotel rates are generally pretty good during the first half of the holiday — especially if you avoid major cities — although they spike right around the middle of Passover week when many people return home from visiting relatives. If you can take the second half of Passover week off from work, you may be able to find some great bargains at that time. Even better: Talk to your employer about taking a leave of absence during the entire second half of Passover week; that way you'll get paid while also spending less money on vacation.

5. Look for Last-minute Deals on Flights

Fares may be higher than average because of the high demand during the Passover holiday, but there are always last-minute deals to be found if you're flexible with your travel dates. Some airlines may offer steep discounts to fill seats on flights that aren't full just days before departure.

The best way to find these deals is by keeping an eye out on airline websites and kosher Europe tours. Signing up for email alerts from your favorite carriers might be a great choice. You can also keep tabs on the “deals'' section of websites, which will alert you when fares drop for certain routes or destinations. kosher europe tours
