5 Pro Tips to Stay Energetic on Summer Motorcycle Trips

Planning to go on a motorcycle trip this summer? There is still a lot of time to plan, and in addition to other basic things that you need to take into account- there is also the matter of staying energetic, because summer can be very harsh on your psychology and Physiology and the constant sweating can easily cut down on your maximum potential to cover more distances post op with that in mind, here are five pro tips to stay energetic on your motorcycle trips during the summer months.  

Avoid riding after 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM  

this is one of the crucial things that many motorcycle riders- especially those that go on long distance Rd trips during the summers failed to follow. Always make sure to start very early in the morning, ideally at 4:00 AM or maximum by 5:00 AM, and stop the ride by lunchtime. This is the period of the day when it is excessively hot and staying outdoors is definitely going to sap your energy. Look for places where you can spend the time during the hottest hours of the day especially on the hottest days of the month. Public parks, zoos, shopping malls, cinema halls or some of the places that you can find to be comfortable because these places usually have air conditioning, and you can easily spend at least two to three hours in these places till the sun starts to set down a little. This will also give your motorcycle enough time to cool down, because an excessively hot engine can be detrimental to the overall health of the motorcycle as well.  

Plan for frequent breaks  

during the spring, you can easily write more than 100 kilometers at the stretch without taking a break. But during the summers, make sure to take a small 10 to 15-minute break after every 100 kilometers and end the days right after 500 kilometers of total riding distance. During the breaks, do not consume a lot of sugary cold drinks, or caffeinated drinks, instead drink energy drinks are simple plain water- ideally that you have collected from public clean water sources rather than investing packaged water bottles. Splash your face with a little bit of cold water and wipe it down with a handkerchief or a face towel whenever you take a break. Include these brakes into the overall itinerary during the day so that you have an estimated time of arrival at the destination. While stopping for breaks, do not leave the motorcycle out in the hot sun, and try to look for the shaded area so that the engine can begin to cool down a little bit.

Wear a tinted motorcycle helmet

Hit the bed early instead of going around town and looking for places to have a good time, because you need the energy to ride the next day.
