by HappyEasy Go consultant

Goa, popularly called the tourist's paradise, is a distinct spot from other urban destinations in India, with its golden sand beaches and weaved palm trees. Even a momentary visit to this place can feel like a vacation within a vacation. There are a myriad of hotels in Goa for comfortable accommodation. In today's post, we will look at the popular tourist attractions in Goa where visitors can get a memorable visit during their stay. So let's get started.

Beaches

The long stretch of sandy coastlines in Goa is popular for its host of splendid beaches. For everyone, there's something to offer on those beaches, from makeshift huts to luxury resorts and from trance parties to serenity and silence. It all depends upon the kind of experience one wants to have. One can head to Baga beach if one wants to indulge in water sports. One can try out Arambol beach to hang out with the hippies. People who prefer solace in isolation and silence can check out Agonda beach or Patnem beach.

Markets

The markets in Goa have exploded in recent years and attracted countless people across Goa. There are a minimum of 500 stalls, and it's still in the growth phase. There's a tremendous amount of goods in the market, so one must try bargaining to get their desired item at the best price. There's one market, the Anjuna flea market, held every Wednesday from morning until evening, excluding the monsoon season, on the southern end of Anjuna beach. Apart from that, the Saturday Night Market and Mackie's Night Bazaar, which resides in the Arpora Baga area, are also worth checking out. They offer delicious delicacies, live music, and other entertainment to enjoy the day!

Spice Plantations

The spice plantations in Goa are another highlight of the "Tourist's Paradise". They are found in the dense jungles around Ponda. The climate of Goa, a lush tropical one, is perfect for growing spices. The spice farms are open for visitors, and they can enjoy the charming scenery, take a guided tour of the place, and end their day with a spicy meal. The Sahakari Spice Farm, which is around 40 minutes from Panaji, is one of Goa's oldest and most glorified plantations. Apart from that, there are other farms such as the Savoi plantation, Tropical Spice Plantation, andPascol Spice Village. Most farms offer accommodations and other activities such as boats and elephant rides. Also, for Ayurvedic herbs and organic farming, one can check out Sai Abyss Herbarium, outside Savoi-Verem village.

Old Goa

It is not too far from Panjim, the current capital of Goa. Earlier it was the glorious Portuguese capital of Goa, but now the things left here are a couple of imposing churches and cathedrals, although these are one of the largest in Asia. Few of those buildings have become archaeological museums and offer an exquisite display of Goa's history. One of the attractive buildings in Old Goa is the Convent and Church of Saint Francis of Assisi, which was constructed in 1521.

The Goa tourism bus departs from Panjim and offers an economical way to reach Old Goa.

Wildlife Sanctuaries

The state isn't just about beaches and churches; but about one-fifth of it is home to wildlife sanctuaries. The state is located along the mountainous Western Ghats, consisting of an array of flora and fauna. The two primary sanctuaries are Bhagwan Mahavir and Cotigao. There are ample accommodation options as well provided by the Goa Forest Department at both the sanctuaries. The sanctuaries are open throughout the year, although October to March is the ideal time to visit them.
