3 tips to help you sell eBooks online

by Diane C. Self-confidence for women

If you are interested in writing an eBook that you promote online you will find that it is much easier to sell them if you start a blog and keep your blog updated.

In 2007 when I first started writing and selling eBooks I didn't have much luck at selling many but in 2011 when I decided to try again I enjoyed success almost immediately. Why? Well because in 2011 I had a blog that had regular readers. Once I started putting my ebooks on my blog my readers began to buy them.

Here are three tips to help you promote and sell eBooks online

1. You don't have to sell - when you write a blog topic make sure it relates to one of your ebooks. So for example, on my blog on self-confidence I write about using affirmations then I link to my eBook on how to use affirmations. I never have to sell my eBook directly, I let the blog post do the 'selling' for me.

2. Build your email list - not every visitor will buy something when they first visit your blog and it is important that you have a way to stay in touch with them. Offer a free eBook as a giveaway (make sure you link back to the eBooks for sale on your blog inside your free eBook or to some other affiliate product) or offer a free eCourse and with each 'lesson' that you send out make sure you supply a link to a relevant eBook for sale and/or blog post to read so they come back to your blog.

3. Keep your niche wide with sub topics. My niche is self-confidence for women however I can also sell eBooks on visualization, assertiveness, affirmations, how to stay focused, goal setting and other topics related to my niche. It will really help you to sell more of your eBooks if you can sell different eBooks to the same customers who have purchased from you before.

If you don't like the idea of writing your own (I prefer to write my own) then you can also think about promoting resale right eBooks where you buy the right to sell an eBook written by someone else. That way you have the eBook and graphics already supplied. I recommend you change the sales page though so you are different to anyone else selling it.

You can also use PLR eBooks - private label rights - I will write about using those in another article. A little research online and you can easily find out what they are and how they work.

I hope this article on how to use a blog to sell eBooks online was helpful. If you do not have a blog I recommend you set one up and get going. It will make selling eBooks so much easier for you.
