Dealerships will get a general reputation that's often based on the overall experience, but what you want to hunt for specifically is their customer service rep. In the end, that controls everything else.

A dealership that thinks the customer is king and wants to please them will find the vehicles you want, make a good faith effort to give you a deal, give you good value for your trade-in, offer you more financing options, work with you to make things right if something's wrong with your car after you buy it: the list goes on. Customer service is the foundation for a good experience in every other respect.

Look for a Good Range of Cars

When space is at a premium, as it sometimes is in Sydney, you want a dealership with plenty of inventory so you can find what you're looking for. This is even more important if you're looking for a used car, as a larger lot means more choice for you within your price range.

You never know, but your options open up at a dealer: plus you know they have an incentive to negotiate in your favour on the purchase since they'd like to keep your business in their service centre.
