The weight of a tent is one very important factor to consider when choosing the perfect tent for camping. This discussion will focus on the best available 2 person tent lightweight enough to backpack for camping. While it is important to have a lightweight tent, it is also important that this lightness does not compromise the quality of said tents. These tents we’ll briefly discuss will give you lightness along with uncommon qualities.

BFULL Camping Tent

Even though the BFULL Camping tent used fiberglass poles for sturdy structure and wind handling, it still is a 2 person tent lightweight enough to go camping with at only 4.4 pounds. This tent has an 82 x 55-inch room, enough for a full-size air mattress or even to squeeze in a queen size one instead. Even though it was advertised as a 1 to 3-person tent, it would only fit two people conveniently.

You can set up this tent under five minutes and it packs down to an 18 x 15-inch size to fit into a compact carry bag. The carry bag comes with the tent and the tent has a double door design for easy movement.

The tent has a minimalistic design that may or may not put off some people. Along with its lightweight feature, the tent can shield you perfectly from rain and has a screened, transparent dome that would appeal to stargazers.

KeltySalidaTent

This KeltySalidais suitable for backpacking when you’d have to cover a bit of distance to get to your campsite. Even with its lightweight feature, it is still sturdily built and will withstand winds of up to 30mph. It has a floor space of 88 x 55 and a center height of 43 inches, suitable for a 2 person camping experience. This 2 person tent lightweight feature does not hold it back in any area. Its rainfly helps to hold rainwater at bay, its sturdy design helps to handle heavy winds and the tent is highly durable.

It nevertheless has no space for gear loft and the fly sits too close to the inner tent. You’ll need to add a tarp underneath the floor area, rolled under to prevent moisture. This standalone tent is easy to set up(thanks to color-coded hug clips) and highly durable.

Mountainsmith Morrison Tent

The 5.56pounds mountain Morrison 2 person tent lightweight has enough space to accommodate 2 campers conveniently. The Morrison will give you enough room to sleep and store your gears and backpack. The spacious 92 x 56-inch floor area has a center height of 46 inches. The tall dome is also very easy to set up, break down and store due (thanks to color-coded hug clips).

The pole materials are made from aluminum, contributing to its lightweight. Only the stitching should have been doubled for the tent fabric. The tent still remains good quality though. The quality rain fly shields you from rain and the tent can also withstand winds of 10 to 15mph.

 ALPS Mountaineering Lynx 2-Person Tent

This lightweight tent comes in at 5.81pounds and is most suitable for two school-age kids. Adults may find it a little tight to fit in though. This tent has a dome design, comes with a gear loft and has breathable mesh panels for ventilation.  It also has two door entries with vestibules and a full fly to protect the inner tent against rain. All of these features were packed into a lightweight and inexpensive tent.

The floor space is a 60 x 90-inch area with a 43-inch center height. This tent is lightweight and still built with durability at heart. It is quite affordable and seems a great value for the price. The only thing the company should have improved on is the quality of the zippers. Heavier duty stakes might also be better but this might have been probably to cut down on the weight.

These tents are lightweight and along with that, will protect you against mild to severe weather conditions. This list of 2 person tent lightweight enough to enjoy camping has been compiled to help you in your decision making. The choice is now yours to filter out the particular tent that has won your heart.
