Why do 97% of all network marketers fail? Or, What do 3% of the successful marketers do?

by Dr. Mike Fitzpatrick

If you do what millionaires do, you will have what they have.

I came across a prolific study at one of the top Ivy League schools about 35 years ago-it was done over a 20 year period to compile its statistics. A graduating class performed an experiment to be evaluated later to show financial results-3% of the class ended up with more money, (20 years after graduation) than the whole class combined-the ONE thing they did different? They wrote down their goals and what they wanted to accomplish. Or so I was told.....upon researching that information no one can "officially" document that alleged study. So, what IS the number one thing to be successful or not to fail? You will know by the end of this blog! Please tell me below with your comments what YOU did to make money! (the ONE thing that is...)

It took me 17 years of struggle to become an overnight "success". The next 14 years hence were most peoples "dream come true" fantasy-financially that is. I came across a small booklet I had from 1993-the year I flew back east to go to an event and meet the "diamonds". I laugh to this day that they all made most of their money from selling books and tapes and hosting seminars, not from their paychecks from their business volume. I had several diamonds later in my life in my own businesses who verified this. That little planner book had ALL my dreams written down in it. I even had pictures of not only my wife next to me, but two kids that later showed up in my life! Was this some form of prophecy? The list included the 5,000 sq. foot million dollar home we later built-view of the mountains and lake, (I really did draw this picture too), fancy cars, money, lifestyle, and out of a list of around 50 things, the ONLY thing I did not yet acquire was the helicopter and pad. So it sure seemed that writing down your goals is a key of some sort, even if you forgot about the writing in the first place! (I was pretty shocked to review this booklet when I found it years later)

Many of the leaders you see on the Internet right now will tell you, "just don't quit" is the secret-which I do not disagree-I remember an interview with Harrison Ford about his success after Star Wars and Indiana Jones-he shrugged it off to attrition and said, "all I did is hang around and there were not many 35 year old guys acting to play these parts". His movies alone have done billions in sales. You cannot cross the finish line of the race you are not in.

Writing this blog makes me so very grateful for the mentor ship I have had in my life. One person in particularly pushed me to the edge because he knew I had a family situation that drove me-thanks Dave! ONE THING DAVE TAUGHT ME? If you treat your business like a business, it will make you money-if you treat your business like a hobby, it will COST you money! When I was prospecting early on he said I talked too much and made me buy an "egg-timer". It was a 2 minute-little hour glass like timer, when I got someone on the phone, I turned it over-when the sand ran out, I said "Hey, gotta go" either you got in, went to my calls, or you got back to watching TV while I got busy becoming a millionaire from zero. Making extra money, paying bills, travelling, living a dream life, retirement-all those things typically do not motivate nor inspire most to do what it takes to "succeed" or make it. WHY do you want to work for yourself and make millions? What is your "why" is the key factor. Most do not have a why that is bigger than their fear of failure-out of the ones left most of them do not have a why bigger than their fear of "success"!

There are now the facts and truth left to deal with-out of the 7 areas of life, (family, physical, financial, social, spiritual, mental, and vocational-no particular order) money or finances is only ONE of the areas of life and therefore statistically not important to many and most. In fact, how did I become a 7-figure earner, then go on to become an 8-figure earner? Money is at the bottom of my value system-my family is at the top-I learned to "anchor" making money to what IS important to me-I laugh at what most call "the secret" and then suggest the secret is to learn how to attract money into your life-what a crock of crap! Finances are only ONE area-and your values will never change, (the hierarchy that is-what is most important, to what is least important) You ALREADY have what is important to you! Plus, one of the authors of that video who originally was filmed for over 12 hours ended up with 8 minutes in the movie. He told us they never told anyone, "what the secret was". It is NOT the "law of attraction", what you think about is what you bring about. However, you ARE successful right now using the "law of attraction" 24/7 since you were born! You are wealthy in your OWN unique value system! Think again-money is not likely important to you too-otherwise you would have it!

I think Ty Tribble is a great guy-smart, AND helpful! He has taught me a lot-thanks Ty! Ann Sieg, Mike Dillard, Jim Yaghi, Dave Schwind, all inspiring great guys with cool stories and breakthroughs for themselves-AND wonderful folks for sharing their wisdom and knowledge of the Internet. Jonathan Budd is the latest face to make the Internet scene-again, impressive stuff for sure. When you look closely at what ALL of these successful kids are doing-most of it is "mechanics". I have never made a dime on the Internet yet. I DO hope to have what all these folks tell us though-CONSTANT qualified leads calling me from my attraction marketing site ready to jump in my biz. I am not being smart either, after 5 years off and not surfing the net nor watching TV maybe the scene has changed? While I do not plan on hosting hotel meetings or drawing circles on folks foreheads, I still think we are ALL in the people business and therefore we might at least chat on the phone? We host live calls 7 days a week for you! I got a huge chuckle from JB listening to his latest video where he is talking about his relationship building off of videos and emails and hasn't spoke to a new prospect in 18 months-WOW. I am seriously impressed by the automated success and genius-for sure! Then shocked that folks think our world is now having digital relationships.

I talk with new people each week and the comments are often the same-"I cannot believe we are talking" to a real person? The industry they say is not growing-only lateral transitions are being made, folks going from one company to another. You are all sitting in front of your computers hoping to "strike it rich" and sit back and collect-no personal growth, just, GIVE ME THE MONEY! How is that formula working for most? Numbers don't lie! We will tell you for under $10 how to become financially independent on ANY salary-the mechanics involved in what we tell you are simple, that is the EASY part-in the end, it is an inside out thing for sure. We will gladly tell you all what it is-my partner is the worlds master at this work. All I am saying is, when the dust settles in 5 years, if you all have not taken the high road or the hardest route to make big money, and continue to try the easy thing, you will get more of what you already have.

I am again grateful to my mentors as what they taught me I have passed along to many. I have seen many of my former teammates go on to have 7 and multiple 7 figure results-you know some of them too. I don't see this Internet thing doing the same-I hope I am wrong. Success is so very relative-you all have it-ALL of you-period! It is in forms you love too! What you "want" is a fantasy, and to each fantasy a nightmare is attached. What you love, you go through the pain to have what you love too. If you REALLY wanted a big house, and big car, and stuff stuff stuff, you would have it. You value your church, your friends, your family, relationships, your work, your health, your mind. I get it that money in and of itself is pretty boring-what it DOES for you is not. What you love is another thing though. When you have a big "why" attached to the fire that burns inside you, you will make it no matter what obstacles you encounter, what choices do you have? There is more to my story, that is another blog, or a phone call should you decide to make one! I just got Skype and actually used it!

Having a system means your team can plug in-having a formula is very important, but all formulas are not created equal. MLM simply does not give you enough profits from ONE sale to give you enough money to reinvest back into your business and pay bills or live life. Attrition in MLM will likely never change-I've been in networking for 31 years and stopped doing MLM almost 2 decades ago-more stories to tell! Direct sales also pays high profits but does not reward team building. You must continue to sell if you want to make more money. That is why we created a hybrid of both-high payouts with residuals attached. Like all businesses, you must build something big enough to have it come back to you. "The greatest amongst you is the servant of all". That proverb is a formula for financial success-Bill Gates found a way to serve billions with his software-so some spilled back onto him.

We look forward to serving you in your life's dreams-embrace the internal work that is missing and then find out where you are with what you are doing and engage-I get the feeling ALL of you know what to do, you simply are not doing it. It is like someone who is overweight-they KNOW their food/caloric intake STINKS, but continue to drink sodas with high fructose corn syrup, and eat microwaved fast processed junk. When you truly want to drink good water, eat fresh fruits and veggies and stop eating fast food and get a little exercise, you KNOW what will happen. Since you are reading this. CONGRATULATIONS for NOT watching TV. I turned mine off in 1987-That is another thing keeping you broke, but that, is another blog. Dr. Mike
