Choosing The Perfect Tattoo Design For You

by Ted Smathers
Tattoos are becoming ever so popular now especially with the dawn of TV shows glamorizing them and giving us lots of ideas as to what we can have done. But that's people on TV. What about choosing the right tattoo for you? When you decide you want ink then you open up a huge box of ideas and thoughts so you need to calm down and think it over slowly.

You have to remember and accept that this artwork you want is going to be on your body for the rest of your life, you want to be able to look at it in 20 or 30 or even 50 years time and still think you made the right decision. So thinking about it closely will really benefit you later on.

Most of us know someone who has that tattoo they don't like, they might have got it removed by laser or even had it covered up if possible, some of your friends might not care and say it acts as a reminder to think out their other tattoos, they will be giving you wise words and the voice of experience.

The first thing to think of is why you want a tattoo, if you just want something nice on your body then think about what you like, do you like colourful things or more sombre things? Are you a TV or film fan, is music your passion? Why not have something that represents a part of your life or have a picture of something or someone you love.

If you're really into sports why not get a football or pennant from your favorite team? For those really into classic films maybe a Marilyn Monroe or Audrey Hepburn portrait would be a lovely idea! Some people however get memorial tattoos these are tattoos that represent the passing of someone close or a celebration of their life!

If you're getting a tattoo like this then you really do need to be giving it some thought, if someone has passed and you run out and get inked then you may regret what you end up getting and it could be a painful memory instead of a happy one. Think of someone that will represent their life and loves rather than their passing.

So now you know what it is you want you have to give other things a think as well such as where do you want it, what hues do you want or is black and gray a better option, how big will the design be? You'll also have to find an artist, recommendations from friends is a great way to go as you can see their work and how its aged, most artists will also have websites where you can check out their talent and style.

You also want to make sure really that you get on with your artist, if you're going to be sat with them for a few hours or even for multiple sessions then it is always a bonus to be able to feel comfortable as well. If you don't then move on and go in and chat with someone else until you find someone you're happy with, its your body after all!

Great article. Choosing a perfect tattoo design is very important as it will be permanent and a bit difficult to remove. A great way is you can first try to get a temporary one to check out the effect and then to decide whether to get a permanent one or not.
