Following are the disadvantages of internal and external source of recruitment:               Internal source of recruitment:         1. Internal candidate may not give a new outlook and fresh ideas to business.         2. Internal recruitment cannot be a complete method in itself because all the vacancies can be filled within the organization.         3. Unsuitable candidates may be promoted to higher positions because there is limited choice.            External source of recruitment:         1. It is time consuming and expensive process to recruit people from the outside.         2. There is no guarantee that the organization will attract sufficient number of suitable candidates.         3. Recruitment from outside may also create frustration among existing employees. <span style="font-weight:bold;">            Q.7. Explain the steps involved in selection of an employee?</span>            Ans. Following are the steps of selection procedure:         1. Preliminary interview: This is essentially to check whether the candidates fulfill the minimum qualification. The preliminary interview is generally quite brief. It aims is to eliminate the unsuitable candidates.         2. Blank application form: The candidates are required to give full information            About their age, qualification, aptitude etc in the application form.         3. Employment  Tests : Tests are helpful in measuring the overall suitability of             the candidate for the job.         4. Interview: It involves face to face conversation between the employer and the employee. The main objective of the interview is to find out the candidate overall suitability for the job.         5. Medical Examination: Candidates who are found suitable after interview are called for a physical examination. A proper medical examination will ensure that the selected candidate don’t suffer from any disease which may create problem in the future.         6. Checking the References: Every candidate is required to state in the application form for the name and addresses of at least two responsible people who know him.         7. Final approval: The candidates who are found suitable after the medical check up and background investigation are formally appointed by issuing appointment letter to them.
