Since today has been a great day for gardening, and I am a bit behind with the
weeding etc., I've spent a few hours on the computer, writing a couple of small
pages for my site, and about three hours in the garden.
The PC stuff isn't that exhausting, just fiddly, especially making a text file site map
in UTF-8 format for Google. Been putting that one off for ages! :-)
Out in the garden, it was different story. My partner usually does the heavy stuff,
but for some reason, I decided to mow the grass strip next to the street. Don't know
if you have them in the US, but we call them nature strips. That took a while,
as it's more dust and weeds than grass now, due to the drought.
Then some soil moving - too much in one place, and not enough in another, and
naturally the two spots were yards apart.
A break for lunch seemed like a good idea, so I took it, and played some computer
games.
After lunch, back to the garden - helped (NOT) by the two chickens, who felt that
everything I planted should be dug up, and if I put soil in place, it needed to be
scattered in all directions. Somehow I don't think the cuttings are going to
survive.
Trimmed a few bushes, swept the paths, (chickens have already spread soil and
mulch back on them.....oh well) and pulled a few weeds.
By this time, the sun had come out, and I had worked up a sweat, so decided
enough was enough. It was enjoyable, but a drink was badly needed!
So here I am, back on the computer, burning a backup CD, and telling you
all this stuff to fill in the burn time. Think I'm going to sleep well tonight, and
it's only 315 pm........
