GetRef Tutorial- A Great Referral Resource
by Sherri-Anne Myers Ladystrange LingerieI have bragged about GetRef in the past, and I still believe it is an awesome referral resource, so I decided to write you a little tutorial since it is a little confusing at first.
Step 1 Register here GetRef
Step 2 Earn points toward referrals. There are several ways to earn points to buy referrals at GetRef listed below.
*You may join programs. The payout is usually 1 point each and it take 2 or more points to buy referrals
*Click links in order to earn points.( I think you must join at least 1 program in order to get referrals).
*Referring - Once a referral joins his/her first program then you receive 2 points plus 10% of their points 5 levels deep.
Step 3 Buy referrals with your points. Please note that GetRef gets half the points you bid. For example you pay 2 points for a referral the earner gets 1 point and getref keeps one point. If you bid 3 points GetRef gets 1.5 points and earner gets 1.5 points.
The smart way to buy referrals is to click the earn link and check out what other users are paying in points for the program you are interested in promoting. To be at the top of the list you must be the highest paying, then it goes to gold members, then to goes to reputation numbers. Assuming that you are new, you will have to be the highest bidder for that program, for any hopes of getting a referral..
There is also an option of buying points the price for points is $10 for 40 or gold members $10 for 50
I did not become a gold member until after about a month. I am a penny pincher and never spend any extra money for anything but this is well worth it.
Here are some of the benefits of being a Gold member.
You get free getref referrals. I think they split up all of the unreferred visitors for the week amongst gold members. I received 9 or 10 referrals for the month.
You get double the earns for any program you join. Program is offering 1 point then getref matches another point.
You also get to go at the top of the list when buying referrals.
Okay the last great thing is if you want to boost your down line by buying referrals , here is the math. The average program costs 2.5 credits the cost per credit for a gold member is $.20 each so the cost is roughly $.50 per referral. That is allot better price than directly buying through most places.
Oh yeah, another feature I like at getref is the ability to private message referrals. You can give them hints on how to excel in their new program.
One thing getref features over 2200 programs and the only requirement is that the program is free to join.
Happy Referring,

Penny I think you get both. I get many that sign up and do nothing. Then I get others that sign up and get many referrals of their own. After you get I think a score of 10 or higher you can block people whom did not perform in previous programs to signing up to any more of yours. I have to admit some programs I have joined and they were not what I expected, and have dropped them within a week or so (I think we are all guilty of this). You add your own description so I try to be descriptive as possible without no hype. I do not use this as a sole way of getting referrals but it is a helpful tool, it can cheer you up to get referrals when other strategies are dry. Oct 19th 2007 16:09 |

Have the referrals you have earned stayed active in your programs, or are they mainly joining to get points towards getting their own referrals? I think the program sounds great, by the way, I'm just curious.
