The larynx, also known as the voice box, comprises 3 subsites: supraglottis, glottis, and subglottis. Vocal cords help in speaking and are located in the glottis. The larynx is present in the neck, above the tracheal opening where it prevents ingested food and fluids from entering the trachea. Lymphatic supply to supraglottis is superior to that in glottis and subglottis.
