Our foot doctor will examine your foot to check for areas of bone spur tenderness and plantar heel pain when diagnosing plantar fasciitis. They may also ask you to flex your foot and push on the plantar fascia to see if the pain worsens. In some cases, imaging tests like X-rays or an MRI might be needed to rule out other conditions that can cause heel pain, like heel spurs or other bone spurs, or issues with the Achilles Tendon, for instance.
