DeskTop Publishing - It's Free!
This is truly something that everyone who publishes content online should check out.
eLerts work with Google Desktop. You register as a Publisher for free, create a "gadget" that gets listed in the eLert Library, then start posting eLerts. Every post you create generates its own html page (indexed), and is included in your RSS feed. I burn my feeds with Feedburner, which can also be optimized (and MONETIZED).
If you're writing anyway, why not increase your readership and pocketbook?

Pete, I put
http://feeds.feedburner.com/LifeCoachDailyTips
in my RSS feed for the gadget.
Where it asks us to place a feed link.
Is that what you mean? If not, I'll need to get more clarification from you tomorrow night (AWST)

It's midnight in Perth Aust., Karen and I was thinking of heading to sleep!
I have work tomorrow...
I'd love to stay however I really must not get to bed at around 1am. It wouldn't do me at all too well for the next day. :)
I feel dreadful leaving only minutes before the call. Please forgive me.

Great stuff Thea! I'm not 100% sure of Pete's RSS question. I hope you all can make it to our little get together in about a half hour... perhaps together we can figure it out?

Hoorah, I've been approved.
I've linked mine to the Feedburner RSS linked to one of my blogs.

Now to see if & how it all works and what results are produced.
I'm not going with a paid version just yet.
Hope I can now help you answer some people's questions here Karen.

Oh yes, I had forgotten about that Pete! When you create a gadget, you create a "Marketing Page" to promote your gadet in the Library. This page is not to have any outside links - it is strictly to inform about/introduce your gadget. All Marketing Pages need to be approved by admin and that takes up to 24 hours. This is a one time thing for each gadget.
To answer your question Collette, it is not difficult. It does require some reading and following instructions, but it is not complicate

Thank you Karen. This looks great. I've registered and shall set up everything in the next day or two. I'm not very well today and on a bit of a go slow due to that. :)

Not anymore. It used to cost $77 to register as a publisher. That has been dropped.
Publishers can pay a monthly fee to "brand" their own eLerts. I'm not 100% up to speed with the "branded eLerts", but my understanding is that community (free) eLerts arrive on the subscribers desktop in no specific order. "Branded" eLerts arrive in a more organized fashion, and are contained within the "branded" gadget.
Hope that answers your question Pete!
