Splash Pages

I can't believe it has taken me this long to jump on this problem, but have you been sucked into one of those 'make professional splash pages' deals that clip you for anywhere from $10 to $30 a month for the upgraded service you need to make anything really good?

I finally decided to tackle it myself and it's not that hard. I have an older version of Photoshop Elements I got on Ebay for around $20 and that's all you need to make as many as you want to. I just draw a box and color it maybe with a gradient, then add layers with my text and graphics in layers until I get the message I want. Then I open a blank canvas slightly larger and paste the image I just made on it so I can add a bevel and drop shadow to make it look cool and save in for the web.

Once I get the image done, I open notepad and center the image on it with a link to whatever website you are promoting and load it all up to the Internet. It's not as hard as it sounds, just contact me and I can walk you through it online.

As far as cost, I can host dozens of these on AngryHosting.com for $1 a month and you don't even need a domain name.

If you want the job, you need to show up with your tools and know how to use them.

See you all online!

I do the same, only I use Macromedia Fireworks. And animationshop to create branded banners.
Sometimes I become a member of Aimationfactory where they have awesome graphics. It is a paid service. I download everything I like before the subscription is finished and I have enough for years.
If anybody needs headers for websites or minisites, there is a free program Xheader on my revpages.
I did not know the site AngryHosting yet. Will remember if for when my webspace runs out.
