Linkedin is a fantastic social site to turn to for business connections. There are so many people who are ready and willing to partner with you in some form of fashion. I like the fact that you can connect with people without consequence. I'm not talking about spamming though. I'm talking about communicating with a mass groups of people without getting in trouble like you would with say, Facebook.

You still need to be able to reach the people you are trying to get in front of. So the best way to do so is to follow these three simple steps to market effectively on LinkedIn.

Joining Groups

This is where you target your market if you are catering to business owners. If you are just trying to connect with people or certain professionals, then you will need to join groups and add them as your connection or you can simple leave a message. Either way you will need to join groups according to which profession you need to connect with. 

Upgrading Account

You an upgrade your account and reap the further benefits of LinkedIn. You can reach a targeted group of people by location, zip code, Country, etc. You can basically narrow down your search by utilizing the resources that you will be enabled when upgrading your account. Not only this, but you will also have what LInkedIn calls InMail emails that you will receive which will enable you to send messages absolutely anyone in the network. Depending on your upgrade level, you will be able to have a certain amount of Inmails per month. 

LinkedIn Advertising

The advertising feature on LinkedIn is very similar to Facebook PPC.  You can set up campaigns for as low as $50 and higher of course. However, you can start out with a $50 campaign so you can get the hang of how to structure an ad campaign on LinkedIn.
