There is just no way parents can protect their children from harm all the time. While it is a fact that is unavoidable, the proper parenting skill and parenting guide can help to better prepare your child for potential everyday dangers that can be easily avoided.

While we are not always able to be there for our children every moment, proper parenting guide can help them to be able to identify good or bad; safe or dangerous situations that they may encounter when they are in school or are away from your sight.

Bully Alert

Bullies are very often bullies because of a poor self-image and they find the need to bully weaker quieter kids in order to prove to others and themselves that they are superior. On the other hand, children who are bullied often keep it to themselves because they fear that if friends or their parents find out, they may appear weak and unable to defend himself. Teaching your kid how to react to such bullies will help assure him that you are here to help and there is no reason to keep quiet about it.

What You Can Do

Firstly, teach your kid to identify a bully when one decides to pick on him. Young children may not completely understand what's going on should they encounter one. Most kids feel confusion and do not understand why a bully wants to pick on them. Your kid needs to know that a bully is a bad person that need not be entertained.

Teach your children respect and reciprocity. They need to understand that people only deserves to be treated the same way they treat you. If a bully is rough with them physically or is rude to them, there is no need to tolerate such actions. He needs to be ensured that even under the threat of a bully, he or she needs to report to the school first and then to you should he find himself in such a situation.

Your kid needs to be taught that outside of the house, there are rules when it comes to dealing with schoolmates. Children also need to be assured that they do not have to put up with any violent or aggressive behavior by anyone in school. It may sound very simple and basic but you will be surprised how many kids become lost and confused in such scenarios and let the bullying continue. Role-play with your child and act out the role of a bully and watch for your child's reaction. It is a great way to determine if he has the skills required to handle this situation. With parenting skill, parents can easily administer appropriate parenting solutions.
