Happy Independence Day

Independence Day is a joyful time as citizens celebrate the sovereignty of their respective nations. Without borders, there would be no cultures to compare and appreciate the differences.

As an American citizen, I recall observing 2001 Canada Day in Kelowna, BC...What a beautiful way for people to come together, even in the square that afternoon where there must have been 30-40 people who raised their right hands to swear allegiance to Canada. It was a moving event, not to be taken lightly by anyone who has respect for the heritage,
language, and culture of others.
