Why do you post other peoples pics as an Avatar?

Because they are insecure.. Or something else.

I have not done that, but I see that there are quite a lot of people who do that in their home business. When I see that and you want to chat or connect with me, I refuse. I want to see a face of the individual and not the face of a child, pet, or abstract picture.

If you are not using social network sites for business, upload a cartoon avatar or people vector. However, if you want to stay connected with people for any reason other than personal then use your own pics. Most people do this for personal branding. Something you should avoid is using someone else's picture to hide your identity. That is demeaning to me and completely unethical.

From my point of view, the safety issue as mentioned above would not be diminished by posting other people's pictures as a user's avatar. Actually posting a photo of someone else could attract undesirables. What puzzles me are the self-proclaimed serious marketers who use stock photos as their avatar on business networks. It's amazing the number of tennis players, movie stars and media figures that have photos linked to members here at APSense.

many do it for safety reasons. you don't know who you encounter on the internet. some just don't feel its safe. for me I would not post my photo on places like facebook as its dangerous.
