Why do som people think 1k profiles with 20 followers each is better than 1 profile followed by 20k?

The whole SPAM think going on even here at Apsense shows that some people still after all of these years think that having multiple profiles on social media is better than building one great profile.

Less is very often more. It is crazy for facebook to even use the term "friend" when the vast majority of your followers have never met you or bothered to engage in a dialogue of more than a dozen words. In response to Andy above: You must have been putting it about! :-)

I think 1 real profile is better than 1000 fake profiles and fake followers.

I have been actively engaging people for a decade to earn a large and active following, it takes work but there are huge rewards to work done right. If I advertised to these people all the time they would tune me out, unfollow, or block me and it would be of no more use to have 13,100+ than having 20,000 people spread about 20 identical profiles just as turned off by the SPAM. My guess is that many think it is to hard to build relationships... It is much easier to SPAM.....I have posted about the difference often..... It is that thing with that horse again..... I love it when they listen but not many do....

My Twitter has 13,167 followers and a 7% engagement rate which is very high in terms of online marketing themed profiles. I am a high 60's on Klout, and nearly 800 of 1,000 on Empire Kred which won't happen if you are a social media spammer with more profiles than any human could keep up with blasting out advertisement after advertisement to small crowds of mostly porn bots.

I guess, not too many understand the value of building constructive relationships because they have no idea how to get started presenting a profile of a person who knows how to provide value or find it in others ... and it's not being taught on APSense either!
