Which you prefer a savings or checking account?

Both a checking account as well as a saving account is what I like. The savings account is at a Credit Union. Since The only thing I know what to do with money is spend it.... My Credit Union is far away.....So I am not able to drive to it. I use my debt card that is hooked to my checking account..... Learning to manage money is one of the things that is missing from being taught in school.......

Mostly, I also prefer saving but if it's possible then.

I tend to have a current account with a savings element... Not too keen on Bank Accounts in general as they have your money to make money with themselves... So I keep my cash in online facilities that earn me interest but is not used by the facility until and unless I transfer it elsewhere or make a withdrawal.

I have been looking into money market accounts because they have a higher interest rate, especially for saving money long-term.
