That depends on what kind of a list you want. For my choice, I want a list of BUYERS, so obviously the best way to build it is to SELL them something. Of course it helps if you offer something they already need and want, so there is not much selling involved. Then if you can take the next step by getting them to help add more BUYERS to both your lists, I think you can see my point.
