I may find myself attracted to him but I do not ALLOW myself to fall for him, nor play the games associated with such foolish behavior. Not if I value my best friend.

The best thing to do is to respect the 3 of you, is the person you are falling for, falling for you back? That means he is not in love with your best friend. Otherwise if they are in love, you don't want to love that friendship, look else where because someone else loves you but your putting attention to your best friend's boyfriend is distrusting you.
