Should mother father's permission and approval be valid at court wedding?

We all understand that there are different cultures and different traditions, and relationships within the family, but the fact is: no, you don't need approval and you can only respect their opinions.

I am honestly not sure. I think family it's so important and a good father's opinion should always be respected, it depends on the case. Bad fathers have no opinion though.
