Should be easyto do. Usually there is an access panel on the bottom of the laptop. Search YouTube for an instructional video.

I would just take it into a service center and let them do it so it will have a warranty

Buy a usb wifi adapter on Amazon and disable the current one in Device Manager to fix the problem for around $10.

I'm sorry. I know it was just a typo but it cracked me up!

But I agree with Warren. Just buy a USB Wifi adapter. Closer to $50 than $10 in my experience but still much easier and safer than screwing around inside your laptop

I just searched Amazon for usb network adapter and there were many prices from less than $10 to the $20 range, depending on specs. For an older laptop I would try the lower end and Amazon will refund or exchange if it does not work.

Maybe they have gone down in price. The last two I bought were around $50 but that was a few years ago now

To replace a WiFi card in a laptop, you will need to follow these steps:

Shut down the laptop and unplug it from any power source.

Remove the battery from the laptop. This is usually done by pressing a latch or sliding a lock to release the battery.

Turn the laptop over and locate the WiFi card. It is usually located under a panel on the bottom of the laptop.

Remove any screws that are holding the panel in place.

Carefully lift the panel to reveal the WiFi card. It may be necessary to gently pry the panel open with a flat tool, such as a spudger or screwdriver.
