How can i get a free domain name for a year?

I once came across a site.. 000webhosting.com you only had 250MB of usage though..I did create a website name there but never followed it through.. however that domain name lasted about 2 years before I received the email that they where terminating my account thru non use. maybe worth a look for a quick landing page strategy.

there are 0 active links in any comment. how by not adding the h t t p : / / thats how. but use it only when absolutely required please. Abuse can get your account terminated (and I am just a user like you I am just giving a friendly suggestion)

@Bruce, thanks for the clarification. If I can't include urls in comments, how did the other members post urls in their answers above?

freedns is not a free domain its a free subdomain, but it is a free DNS service if you have a domain but no DNS server or if you host on your own computer (which I don't recommend if you are serious) nd yes you cannot include any url's in comments.

I tried to post a link to a site that provides free domain names but I get an error message saying, "Failed! Any promotional link CANNOT be included in the comment". What?!? That aint no promotional link, bro! I'm just trying to help. I can see that some members have posted URLs in their answers above. How come?

I know places you can get free domains if you pay for hosting, and I know places you can get free hosting for registering a domain, but I don't know of any way to get both free with no strings (perhaps some sort of trial-pay exists).

As Marilyn has said, you get what you pay for.... but at the same time free hosting has come a LONG way, so you can get some decent free hosting these days. I recommend byet (search it) for free hosting. Full Cpanel, php, databases, domain hosting, sub domain, ema

Sorry to tell you but there is no place that I know of online that you can get a free domain name from. There are a few free hosting sites but remember you get what you pay for so anything free is not going to be very good. You can get very cheap hosting ($3.00 a month small site/blog) with me and a domain name ($9 for a year) for only. just contact me here on ApSense and I will get back to you.
