My favorite TE is easyhits4u, and yes they work. I have recruited thousands of people into my businesses using them. I have also generated many sales as well. They are also good for generating lots of traffic to your site, which in turn gets you higher ranking in the search engines.

If you enjoy conversion rates of 1 in every 10,000 hits or so, then yes, they work fine. Otherwise they're a waste of time: 99.99999% of people on them are only interested in the traffic generated for their site and don't give a hoot about yours.
