I wasn't trying to be funny. If you continue to keep just restarting and the problem relates to the monitor, its very likely you may fry the GPU (graphical processing unit) inside your computer. If that happens you will be buying a new computer instead of a new monitor.
If what I said makes zero sense.... I would recommend a repair shop or your local friendly computer tech.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA..... What a hoot Bruce..... That could be written in Greek for all I know about what you said to do.... Things have been much better since I have been shutting down more often.( I understood how to do that).
But thanks for the input!

Cindy....
First: remove all drivers from the computer that relate to monitors and reinstall all of them
Next check your harddrive for errors: http://hddscan.com/
Finally: check your monitor for errors. Monitor scanning is generally specific to the monitor you have and takes a bit of research. Most monitors have a build in tool to self diagnose, its a matter of what type of monitor, and finding the tool.
Hope this helps.

Good Idea Faii.... So far the shutting down more often has been working.. But that is a great idea.. if the problem continues.. Thanks

Try changing the monitor. If you have an old one lying around (like I do) or can borrow one then plug that one in and see if it does the same thing. If it does, it's a HDD problem. If it doesn't, then you just need a new monitor

@9crore Thanks for your input.... That sounds like it could be my problem.... It is on all the time.. and I have the tower in a small enclosed area... I will see what I can do about adjusting that and see if that helps.. thanks again.
