Review on United Cancellation Policy

Depending on the price class, you may be charged a cancellation fee of up to $400 for international flights and $200 for domestic flights if more than 24 hours have passed since you purchased your ticket.

After paying the cancellation fee, you can use the remaining value of your ticket to book a future trip with United. You must have canceled the previous ticket before the first flight's departure in order to qualify for this, and your new trip must start no later than a year after the day the original ticket was issued.
