Twitter is an amazing and powerful tool to get target traffic to your sites. Powerful and targeted because people click voluntary on tweets that interest them. When the content you tweet is interesting not only ad links you will get new followers. To get people to retweet your stuff is even more interesting but a bit harder. This is why I love TraffUp. People re-tweet your tweets for points and at the same time you will get new followers,. I use the other feature, page views for showing of sites; I usually use splash pages I created myself for that. You earn points both for re-tweeting and for viewing websites. You can store 10 tweets and 10 urls. It is advisable to change out your tweets regularly or to rewrite the text to prevent that the same is re-tweetet over and over again. Personal note to the re-tweeting: do not blindly re-tweet everything just for the credits; re-tweeting questionable sites harms your online reputation.
