Review on The Northwest Florida Ballet

The Northwest Florida Ballet is an organization that is near and dear to my heart. I'm proud to have had the chance to be a part of the company and school for many years as a 'ballet mom'. My daughter Gayle studied under Todd and Shari Allen, Bernadette Clements Sims and Dorothy Daniels Lister; going on to become an apprentice and finally member of the company. The professional performances of this company are astounding, many of the dancers on stage are under the age of 18. And yet these young dancers display a professionalism that you would expect from much older performers. The training the dancers receive combine technical proficiency with stage presence. The annual performance of the Nutcracker is a holiday tradition for the Northwest Florida community. The Company also offers a spring performance and Summer workshop. The NFB Academie is a free Artistic and academic program for Okaloosa County students with the potential to excel in dance. The program is a joint effort of Northwest Florida Ballet and The Okaloosa County School District. The Academie exposes children grades 3 through 8 to dance and the Arts combined with a full academic program.
