Review on Google Acquires Most Of HTC’s Design Team

The first Google Pixel was designed by HTC, and it collaborated with LG to design the Google Pixel 2.
Bringing HTCs design team on board simply moves the process in-house. To HTC, which has seen spiraling revenues (37.25% loss year on year for December 2017), $1.1 billion may be a help, but the effect of losing most of its design team is yet to be seen.
Post the deal, the design team will be based out of Taiwan. This step comes as the search engine giant Google looks to expand its presence in Asia.
